Tour De France visits Derbyshire....Top cyclists from around the world will ride into Derbyshire next year as part of the 2014 Tour de France.

The cyclists will travel into the northern tip of the county for a six mile stretch during the York to Sheffield leg in stage two of the competition on Sunday 6th July 2014.

The race will cross the border into Derbyshire on the A6024 near one of the greatest cycling climbs at Holme Moss (site of the highest radio transmitter in the country at 524m/1719ft) before swooping down into the Woodhead Pass, along the A628 and heading out of the county towards Sheffield.
